About the Event
Dear Brothers and Sisters of St Pete First,
It is with a broken heart that I have to tell you that we are cancelling our live Christmas Eve Service in Vinoy Park. We are not going to hold the service because the forecast for Thursday evening not only includes rain and cold weather (not ideal for an outdoor service in the first place), but includes the potential for tornadoes as well. We could not in good conscience ask anybody, including staff, to come under those circumstances.
As a group of Christians however, we could not NOT offer our praises to God for the Gift that came at Christmas! So our band, and those who were going to help with the service, have all come together to produce a Christmas Eve service anyway. The musicians are coming together with everyone else to make this service happen. And I think it’s going to be great! We will stream this on Facebook and YouTube starting at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, Christmas Eve. Please join us!
At the end of the service, as we have done for years, we will sing Silent Night and have a Candlelight service. If you join us, please have a candle ready to light as we sing, and let’s form the Candlelight service all over St Petersburg and all over US, and Canada and around the world. That thought makes me celebrate what is emerging as the last wrinkle in a year of great upheaval. God is with us! God is still with us! Hallelujah.
I hope to see you then!
