The mission of our preschool is to give children of St. Pete First and the community a solid foundation upon which to build their formal education and spiritual life. Our philosophy is to accept every child at their own level. We aim to nurture each child to their fullest potential in a loving Christian environment, while being in partnership with the church families and the families of the community. We provide an exciting and rewarding experience through a variety of activities, in a safe and secure environment.

First United Methodist Church Preschool offers well rounded full and part-time programs that adapt to the individual needs of our students while maintaining the goal of kindergarten readiness.
Our children love to learn!
We encourage social and emotional growth, emergent literacy, beginning math skills and science through a play-centered, hands-on curriculum with faith based values intentionally integrated throughout the day.
Self-reliance, respect for others, sharing, and self-determination are modeled by our staff and nurtured in the children. Our staff love to share the love joy and peace of Christ each day. "As a full time working mom, FUMCSP/St. Pete First Preschool was a second home for our daughter. We started her in the 2 year old class on the day she turned 2 and she just graduated from the VPK program. We were blessed with three years of awesome education, growth and most importantly, love.
