A NOTE FROM PASTOR BOB
I think for most, we wonder, “Will my life amount to anything? Will my life make a real difference?” If you have ever wondered that, you aren’t alone. It’s been said we have an average lifespan of 80 years. That is 700,800 hours of time we have on earth to make a difference with our life. Some will spend that time furthering their education. Others will focus on a specific vocation while a few will have big dreams but those dreams will primarily be how it will benefit them, personally.
There is nothing wrong with having goals and dreams in life. As a matter of point, if you don’t have either you cannot achieve anything. But the question for followers of Jesus is, “What are we doing with the time we have been given? In what ways are we influencing areas of justice, creating communities of love and acceptance? How is our time effecting the greater good?” I think the story in ACTS 3 says a great deal and in it, Luke outlines for us that God is calling us into something new, big and adventurous and if God is the One doing the calling/inviting, then it has to be a real life game changer. It’s time to make a difference! Just Do it!
