Doing Life with your Adult Children (Wednesdays 6:30-7:30 pm ; Fall Semester; Room 101)

This is a Wednesday evening adult class being offered for parents of adult children by Barb Willey and some ‘surprise’ guests.

• Are you a new Empty Nester?

• Did you just send your first child off to college or the military?

• Has an adult child returned home to live temporarily?

• Has your adult child lost a spouse to death or divorce and has moved back home with or without the grandkids?

• Are your adult children adjusting to a parent remarrying?

Whatever your situation is, even if your adult children seem perfectly fine and well adjusted in life, we all have to relearn how to parent in this new stage. And we actually are in this stage longer than any other stage of parenting.

Jim Burns, in his book Doing Life with your Adult Children, offers us practical and Biblical advice that he and his wife have ‘battle tested.’ The goal of this book and class is for us to come together in a safe, affirming and honest group of adults whose goal is to have a healthy relationship with our adult children. Jim suggests we ‘Keep our mouths shut and the Welcome Mat out’.

This class is open to men and women. Come together or come by yourself, all are welcome and together we will learn from God’s Word, Jim Burns book and each other.
