A NOTE FROM PASTOR BOB

As we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we pause to remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and all those who courageously served and sacrificed in the days that followed.

This is a season that reminds us of our need for compassion, unity, and hope. As people of faith, we place our sorrow in the hands of God, trusting His promise to be near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), bringing healing to those who still carry the wounds of that day.

My prayer is that each of us will live our lives in a way that reflects the love of Jesus to one another.

See you Sunday,

Pastor Bob

* Call to Worship

Pastor: This is the day that the Lord has made.

People: Let us rejoice and be glad in it! Let us be grateful for all this day holds— sorrow and grief, joy and truth.

Pastor: We have one precious life. Let us live fully in each moment, give and receive forgiveness, walk humbly with God, and leave a legacy of love.

People: Guide us, O God, to live for You, to share Your love, and to pass the Gospel faithfully to our children and to their children.

Pastor: And at the end of our lives, may we hear You say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”

People: Let us worship the God who gives our lives meaning, purpose, and hope!

Football Fellowship (Sundays beginning Sept 13; 1 pm kickoff) Cheer on the Buccaneers over good eats and even better conversation! Meet new friends, build connections, and enjoy the excitement of football together. Locations will vary, so there’s always a new spot to gather. And if you’re a fantasy football fan, keep the good times rolling all season long with friendly competition, conversation, and camaraderie. Season kick-off is at Voodoo Brewing TODAY (Sept. 13) at 12:30 for a 1pm coin toss!

Fall Organ Concert (Monday, Sept 14; 2 pm)

Bring your family and friends to listen and sing along to favorite songs as organist Rick Nay (with guests) showcases our magnificent organ amid our beautiful stained glass windows — audience members will even get the chance to play handbells on some of the songs. Refreshments will be served after the concert, and for those unable to attend in person, the concert will be livestreamed and recorded. We need volunteers to help out — contact the church office at 727-894-4661 or church@stpetefirst.org.

WhereHouse "More than a Garage Sale" (Friday & Saturday, Sept 18–19; 9 am–3 pm | Sunday, Sept 20; 11 am–1 pm; at the WhereHouse) — Rare finds. Real impact. Shop the WhereHouse and help make a difference — all proceeds and donations go toward St. Pete First Student Ministry. There are lots of fun and funky items so be sure to stop by.

Personal Care Product Collection + Plastic Bags (outside Fellowship Hall)

We’re collecting personal care products (Sept 1–20) for our Shower Ministry and the St. Pete Free Clinic — small sizes please; a list of requested items is posted at the bins. And keep those Plastic Grocery Bags coming through Sept 29 — each sleeping mat for our unhoused neighbors takes several hundred.

Calling all Kids—We're planning a Christmas Musical! Does your child (1st-8th grade) have an interest in music, acting, or just plain fun? Join us on Sundays beginning Sept 13 at 9:30 on the 4th floor as we start work on our Christmas Musical. We will be rehearsing every Sunday, with dress rehearsals on Sunday, Dec 6 & 13 at 9:30 am, and the performance on Sunday evening, Dec 13 at 6 pm. Come have fun with us! For more information, contact Kelly Bonyata (kbonyata@stpetefirst.org). Sign your child up here.
