A NOTE FROM PASTOR BOB
Did you know that how you spend your time and money says a lot about who you really are? More importantly, it says where your life’s priorities lay. Hurricane Ian was a huge reminder that life is precious and as we the church family of St. Pete First UMC work to provide relief, it helps us understand that God counts on us not only to provide solutions to problems but to be His hands and feet in the world.
What you and I have is a gift; no, let me put it more specifically…what you and I have is a blessing. God has blessed us so abundantly and it is a privilege for us to share what He so graciously has given. As we work together as a church to help those affected by Hurricane Ian, I want to say “thank you” to all who have and will continue to respond with providing supplies for flood buckets, purchasing tarps for damaged roofs and supplies that families need. Let me offer one additional way you may use what God has given you to help another: The Florida Conference is looking for folks who have trucks that can pull loads (pull a trailer, etc) to be called upon to drive supplies to the hard hit areas from the hurricane. If you can help, please let us know and we will share your name and contact number with them so they may call you when they schedule delivering supplies in the near future. Your gas will be reimbursed so all it will take is for you to help.
Thank you for being Jesus people and for being part of a church with a heart in the heart of the city! I love being your Senior Pastor.
