Our St. Pete First School Partnership ministry supports our partner schools with mentorships, tutoring, fundraisers, teacher support, prayer, food, and acts of loving kindness. Our current partner schools are Fairmount Park Elementary and Campbell Park Elementary. To volunteer in the schools, visit our volunteer page or email church@stpetefirst.org
We also have a School Food Pantry Team, which supports local students and families by providing food at partner schools. Some locations operate weekly while others are biweekly. Volunteers assist with pantry prep on Thursdays by stocking canned and dry goods and packing fresh produce (no heavy lifting required), or help distribute food directly to families once a week or every other week, offering a warm and welcoming presence. Training is provided, scheduling is flexible, and this ministry is perfect for those who enjoy hands-on service and meaningful opportunities to support children and families in our community. We currently have food pantries at Melrose Elementary, New Heights Elementary, and Thurgood Marshall Middle. To volunteer with our School Food Pantry Team, visit our volunteer page or email church@stpetefirst.org
It’s easy to register to become a volunteer in the public schools:
-
Sign up as a Pinellas County School volunteer. Go to the Pinellas County Schools volunteer registration page and follow the registration process. The online application requires an email address, a scan/photo of the front and back of your drivers license (or other photo ID), and approximately 5-15 minutes of your time. Please note that you will be required to submit your social security number for the purpose of criminal background screening since you will be working with children.
-
Choose your volunteer days and times. Volunteer opportunities include student support (Lunch Pals, mentoring and tutoring, reading partners, pen pals, Growth in Gardening), event support (Teacher Appreciation, Literacy Night, Math Night, Science Night, chaperoning field trips), and more.
