Pastor's Note

A NOTE FROM PASTOR BOB

Friends,

I’m so proud of the work we are doing as a church as we continue to live into our mission “Love. St. Pete.” This week I’ve received so many stories from people in our community who have been touched by the generosity and love of our church. To some, that might be surprising to hear people are seeing our love and support but from my viewpoint, it’s the church God has called us to be! I love all of you so much!

I have a special message this week on forgiveness. It’s one I think to be so important. Forgiveness is such a vital part of the Christian journey. Come worship with us in person or on-line. I think you’ll feel the impact of what the day will bring.

— Pastor Bob

People: The Rock of Ages is a foundation like no other.

Leader: Hope arises, as the tools of war are broken and the weak are given strength.

People: Hope lives when the hungry are fed and the poor are lifted up.

Leader: God comes bringing judgment to the ends of the earth, calling us to hope and faithfulness.

People: Come, Rock of Ages, come quickly now.

*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH

“Modern Affirmation”     # 885

Pastor:

Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is the one true church, apostolic and universal, whose holy faith let us now declare:

Pastor and People:

We believe in God the Father, infinite in wisdom, power, and love, whose mercy is over all his works, and whose will is ever directed to his children's good.

We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Son of man, the gift of the Father's unfailing grace, the ground of our hope, and the promise of our deliverance from sin and death.

We believe in the Holy Spirit as the divine presence in our lives, whereby we are kept in perpetual remembrance of the truth of Christ, and find strength and help in time of need.

We believe that this Faith should manifest itself in the service of love as set forth in the example of our blessed Lord, to the end that the kingdom of God may come upon the earth. Amen.

In the meantime, you can donate to St Pete First Local Hurricane Relief or if you would like to make a meal to show some love from our church, please email KayLee Bennett-McFall
