I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
PASTORAL PRAYER / LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Amen.

Pastor's Note
A NOTE FROM PASTOR BOB One of the things that makes a church really have a heart for its community is through serving. We line up for the chance to sort and serve meals to the homeless, jump on a plane to travel across the globe to be a missionary, or grab a hammer and nail a few boards building a home for Habitat for Humanity. All these are great things to do as we serve. But I want you to know something that can literally change lives right here in your own backyard.
Jesus tells us in the Book of Acts we are to be His witnesses in “Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and the world.” I’ve often wondered about this as it relates to serving. It’s no mistake the Lord says we are to first serve in “Jerusalem.” Where is our Jerusalem? It’s our own backyard. It’s right in front of you and it doesn’t require saving a small treasure to get on a plane and travel to another country.
What I’m talking about specifically is asking you to serve as a volunteer in our children’s ministry, especially this summer as we offer our camps and Vacation Bible School. If we are going to be a light to shine brightly in our city then we need to make sure we are reaching kids. It doesn’t take much time; in fact, it’s less time than you would likely spend sitting at a Buc’s game. The difference is, you know which team is going to win when you serve and that is the Jesus team! Come on now, take a minute and let us know how you will help serve our summer children offerings. It’s a real gamechanger!

Common Grounds 2.0:
Coffee and pastry are great, but fellowship and human connection are better served when we discover an opportunity to serve one another. We need your help to reimagine the Common Grounds ministry. A simple act of hospitality can change everything. Contact Chad Simonds to find out how.

Vacation Bible School is coming—we need YOU to volunteer!
VBS setup is this coming week June 12-16 (9am-1pm), and VBS is June 19-23 (9am-12 noon).
VBS begins soon, and it takes MANY willing hearts and hands to make it happen. We will have volunteer sign-up in the Fellowship Hall TODAY (Sunday 6/11) between services & after the 11am service. Lora Ulrich, our Director of Children's Ministries, will be there to answer questions.
We need all hands on deck to help decorate the Fellowship Hall and Sanctuary for VBS! Experience is not required :) Come down anytime you can during the week of June 12-16 between 9am and 1 pm and we'll be happy to put you to work.
VBS is June 19-23 (9am-12 noon). We have over 100 children registered for VBS and we need more volunteers! Please consider volunteering during the week; even if you are not available each day, we still have a spot for you.
Email Lora at lulrich@fumcsp.org or call the church office, 894-4661, ext. 2125 for all the details!

VBS Donations Needed:
This year for Vacation Bible School we are accepting donations to purchase snacks instead of asking everyone to bring something in. This way, we are sure to get exactly what we need. Also, our outreach mission for this year will be St. Pete High Green Devils’ Pantry to supply backpacks for kids to start the new school year. If you would like to donate to VBS in any way, please use the QR code here, and your donation will go directly to VBS!
