Pastor's Note
A NOTE FROM PASTOR CAREY
Hi Church!
I hope you are enjoying the summer months, and beating the heat! Back-to-school season is rapidly approaching, bringing with it many opportunities for us to meet the needs of students and teachers in our community. As back-to-school season ramps up, I encourage you to take some time to pray for all the students, teachers, administrators, school staff, and parents in Pinellas County who will be starting the new school year soon!
One of the pieces of our church Vision is a goal to improve literacy in our city. We have an opportunity, through our school partnerships, to do just that. This year, we are giving every student at Fairmount Park Elementary School a backpack, along with five grade-level books each for them to enjoy throughout the school year and beyond. This is a great opportunity for us to ensure a whole school of children has no shortage of books to enjoy!
The first step will be to distribute backpacks to all Fairmount Park students during student drop-off on the first day of school, August 11. A team of St. Pete First Staff and volunteers will be there to welcome everyone to the new school year, and make sure every student has a backpack! If you would like to be a part of the team to distribute backpacks on the morning of August 11, contact Kendra at kaumack@stpetefirst.org for more information about how to get involved.
See you Sunday,
— Pastor Carey

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
PASTORAL PRAYER / LORD'S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
