“…if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed…nothing will be impossible to you.” Matthew 17:20

When I first received the request to participate in writing a devotional many years ago, my first reaction was “I’m not sure I can do it. It’s too soon after the loss of my friend.”  But, the longer I put off writing this, the more shallow that excuse sounded as I kept repeating it to myself. And I began to think how disappointed she would be in me. She set an example for me, all the years I knew her and worked with her, of what faith is all about…the Resurrection, and life everlasting. We will rejoice with her again someday, and with all those who have gone on before us.

Many times over the years, when I’ve been in situations that I thought I would never get through, I’ve stopped to think about 5 little words she said to me which have meant so much….”One day at a time!” All our problems can’t be solved at once. Have faith in the Lord, and He will give us the strength and courage to face one day at a time.

PRAYER:

What a friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,

all because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
