Lenten Devotional: March 31, 2024

by Ginny Cannon

How is the Resurrection Calling You?

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…”

Happy Easter! Rejoice with me as we celebrate the Resurrection! Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, beat the odds of death and rose again! Can you imagine His thoughts and emotions when He awoke from the dead and rose to continue His mission that our Heavenly Father gave Him initially? Without the Resurrection, there would be no Christianity of which I am so very grateful.

After presenting Himself to the disciples, Jesus’s command was to, “Go make disciples of all nations.”

My question for you is this: how can we, you and me, in our daily walk, with the individual talents bestowed on each of us, carry out this direction? In small ways or large ways? We are reminded today that all efforts are significant in our Father’s eyes. How does the Resurrection inspire us to carry out this task?

In the past weeks, we have prayerfully and thoughtfully reflected on our own lives and how we could improve. As Lent draws to a close, let the coming weeks be a fresh renewal of rising, as Christ did on the third day, Easter morning, to live our best lives in Christ and continue His direction of going and making disciples of all whom we meet and greet!

Amen? Amen!

Prayer

Father God,

Thank you for the Resurrection and its significance! May we heed its calling as we continue our walk and your work. For Your abundance we are so grateful! Through your Son, Our Savior, Jesus Christ, we pray… Amen!
