FUMC has staffed a Meals on Wheels delivery route for many years. We go out in teams of two; each team delivers one day a month. Time commitment is about 1½ hours (10:30am-12noon, M-F). We often need volunteers who can help on a regular basis or as a substitute when it fits your schedule. Registration and training are required and will be provided. Click here for more information.

Pack A Snack: School Food program
//
Pack-a Snack is a weekend feeding program in elementary schools targeting the chronically hungry. It provides snack-sized items for students to take home every Friday during the school year.
The Pinellas County School District estimates that between 7,000 and 8,000 children are chronically hungry. Our program provides weekend food to 500 children each week at Melrose and Fairmount Park Elementary Schools. Every week during the school year, we provide each child with a food packet containing 10-12 nutritional food items.

Any female with any kind of life challenge is welcome to join the group. We love and support one another using the 8 principles from the Sermon on the Mount and the 12 steps. Our inclusive program can help with a large number of issues from addictions to anger, low self-esteem, past hurts, and current difficulties.
We meet at 6:30 PM on Thursdays in the Chapel and open with a time of worship and either a lesson or testimony. Following, we have an hour of time to confidentially share, without interruption, any current struggles or ESH (experience, strength and hope) that we have gathered along our individual journeys. We do not tell each other what to do. We share ideas and possibilities for each to consider. Throughout all our time together, Christ offers the solutions we need.
