Lenten Devotional: March 20, 2023

by Lori Jukes

Today is the first day of spring. Just as the plants and trees renew themselves after a long winter, so let us renew our spirit as we wait for the miracle of the resurrection on Easter morning. As it states in Titus 3:5, "He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit." The plants and trees sprout new leaves and new blooms in praise to God as they bring forth new life in spring. They grow taller and spread their branches as they reach to the sky in faith that God will bring spring rains for growth. We too can stand taller in our faith and spread our arms to praise God in all His glory.

What are you doing today to stand taller in your faith? What are you looking forward to doing personally to grow and increase your love and understanding of God?
