Lenten Devotional: March 21, 2026

by Alicia Clements

Walking in Peace and Love

Lent is a season of reflection, renewal, and drawing closer to God. It invites us to slow down, quiet our hearts, and realign our lives with what truly matters. In a world that often feels hurried and heavy, God gently calls us back to two powerful anchors: peace and love.

Peace is not simply the absence of chaos—it is the presence of God within us. Even when life feels uncertain, His peace steadies our hearts and minds. Love, likewise, is more than a feeling; it is an action, a choice we make daily to reflect God’s grace to those around us.

As we journey through this Lenten season, we are reminded that true peace comes when we trust God fully, and true love grows when we give ourselves freely. Whether through small acts of kindness, patience in difficult moments, or forgiveness when it’s hard, we become vessels of His peace and love.

Today, take a moment to pause. Breathe deeply. Invite God into your thoughts, your worries, and your relationships. Let His peace settle over you and ask Him to help you love others as He loves you.

Scripture Reflection:

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts… And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Colossians 3:15, 14 NIV

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your constant presence in my life. In this Lenten season, help me to slow down and rest in Your peace. Quiet my anxious thoughts and fill my heart with Your calm assurance.

Teach me to love as You love—patiently, selflessly, and without condition. Help me to show kindness in my words, grace in my actions, and compassion in my relationships. When I am overwhelmed, remind me that Your peace is always available to me.

Guide me to be a light to others, reflecting Your love in all I do. May my life be a testimony of Your goodness, bringing peace where there is worry and love where there is need.

In Your holy name,

Amen.
