Prayer: Listening as we wait for answers
Scripture: Psalm 116:1-2 NIV
I love the Lord, for he heard my voice;
he heard my cry for mercy.
Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live.
Reflection:
Prayer opens the door to the most powerful and personal conversation withGod. We can tell God anything we want, anything we desire when we pray—and the most beautiful thing is, God hears and answers our prayers, even when He answers in ways we did not anticipate nor expect.
As we pray, pray also for wisdom and understanding in listening for answers.
Call to Action:
As we pray; as we wait on prayers answered; we should listen in wisdom, in silence, and in faith.
Prayer:
God, we thank you for always being available to hear our cry.
To be available to talk with us when we need to— and we are grateful for that.
We ask that you fill us up with your spirit of love, kindness, patience, and understanding as we go about our days into nights; and teach us how to listen, as we wait in faith, on your answers.
We also pray for those closest to us, our families, our friends, our church,our communities, our leaders and citizens. and for the world and its inhabitants. We ask these Mercies in Your name.
Amen
