PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Pastor: Christ the Lord invites all to His table who love Him, who earnestly repent of their sin and seek to live in peace with one another. Therefore, let us confess our sin before God and one another.

People: God of all creation and creatures, who in love made an everlasting covenant with us, you sent Jesus Christ to seek and save the lost. We confess that we have strayed from you. We have been willful and prideful. Have mercy on us, O God, and forgive us. Return us from the wilderness to paths of righteousness through Jesus Christ, our Savior. Amen.

WORDS OF ASSURANCE

Friends, hear the Good News! Christ nailed to the cross attests the cost of God's love and forgiveness. Our faith is not built on human wisdom, but on the power of God. In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Amen.

Pastor's Note

A NOTE FROM PASTOR BOB We are on Rule 5 of our series the Seven Rules for 2023. This week we are going to look at how we can “Do no harm.” This topic could go anywhere, but we are looking specifically at the words we use when we speak to one another. James tells us our tongues get us in more trouble than we think, so learning how to “Tame the Tongue,” as James says, is critical. It’s going to be a great day in worship so come join us!

— Pastor Bob
