Courage When Afraid

Writer: Rev. Bob MartinRev. Bob Martin

A NOTE FROM PASTOR BOB

A few months ago, Patti and I took two of our grandkids to the water park. Our grandson is still learning to swim, so you really have to entice him to get into the water. I guess he’s like his Poppy, because all it takes is a burrito and he’s there! I was standing in the pool, and our grandson was on the ledge. I kept trying to persuade him to jump into the pool where I was prepared to catch him. The more I tried to coax him, the more he wasn’t sure. Finally, he decided enough was enough and he just jumped and, as promised, I caught him. All it took was for him to trust me, to have courage and even a little faith.

What is it that you need to do this week to let go of your fears and trust God to do for you? Believe it or not, all it takes is for you to let go, look forward and never look back. When you do, your life will never be the same. Just ask my grandson. He won’t get out of the water now!
