It’s been said that the answers are in the questions. The most dangerous question of all time is this: “Did God really say THAT?” Fast forward to John 8:46. Jesus said, “Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don’t you believe me?” The big “if” in this question denotes a choice. We can choose to either believe Jesus Christ or not. John 8:24 says, “I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.” In John 8:31 Jesus says, “‘If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.’” In John 8:34, Jesus says, “‘Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin.” And finally in John 8:36, we are given profound hope in the message Jesus shares with us: “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”
God’s power is real and will enable and equip us to do His will. All we have to do is make a choice. Do you believe that Jesus can set you free? Do you believe he can wash you as white as snow? Do you believe when Christ died on the cross, that His death counted for you too?
During this season of reflection and introspection, let’s not forget that no one and no thing compares to our God, the Creator of all things and the One who loved us first.
May the Grace of Our Lord be with us always!
Meditation: Are you seeking God’s will before, in, and above all things?
