The First Day of Spring
Read Song of Songs 2:11-13:
“See! The winter is past;
the rains are over and gone.
Flowers appear on the earth;
the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves
is heard in our land.
The fig tree forms its early fruit;
the blossoming vines spread their fragrance.
Arise, come, my darling;
my beautiful one, come with me.”
Meditation
Today is the first day of spring. It is a time of renewal after winter. Everything is coming back to life after being dormant for a while. It reminds me of when I was in youth group. We would sing, "Pass It On" at the end of our time together as a reminder to spread God's love with everyone. Here is one of the verses of that song:
What a wondrous time is spring
When all the trees are budding
The birds begin to sing
The flowers start their blooming
That's how it is with God's love
Once you've experienced it
You want to sing
It's fresh like spring
You want to pass it on.
Challenge
My challenge to you this Lenten season is this: when you experience God's love in this time of renewal, simply "Pass It On."
